Message from the MTC President

Dear Prospective Missionary,

Congratulations on being worthy, willing, and called to serve with our Savior in His divine work. It is our great desire to aid you in deepening your conversion to Jesus Christ and His Atonement, in helping you learn and live your missionary purpose, and in strengthening your testimony of the Book of Mormon. We look forward to our brief but critical time with you.

The Missionary Training Center is sacred ground. We believe you will feel that when you come here. We invite you to participate fully in the opportunities that are offered to you to learn and grow. The Lord is anxious to bless and strengthen you, and everyone who works and serves at the MTC is eager to help Him do just that.

You will represent Jesus Christ in all you do and say. This begins with how you present yourself in appearance and behavior. We invite you to visit the Dress and Appearance webpage so that you come to the MTC with the proper attire. Please also study “Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ” and “Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ: Supplemental Information.” This preparation will help you understand what the Lord expects of you, His representative. You can access this information through your missionary portal. Please also continue to study “Preach My Gospel.” That inspired resource will nourish your testimony and prepare you to teach the gospel.

President Nelson has said, “The Lord is hastening His work to gather Israel. That gathering is the most important thing taking place on earth today.” What a thrilling time to be a missionary!
